* How this content was born:

I made it as part of a Rakuen Soundtrack Project. As a last week of school, I took a trip back to Nagano to visit my family, and in the middle of my family’s mini trip, I decided I wanted to get some music made for the soundtrack. I’d finished my 2nd year of middle school and started taking music classes, so I figured that I’d give myself a small challenge: make a soundtrack for a Rakuen game.

As I was making it, I decided that I wanted the songs to fit with the theme of the game. So I started thinking, what game had the best theme to my music? Rakuen came to mind, so I gave it a try. I ended up making “Mori no Kokoro,” “Lights,” and “The Lonely Tree” as instrumental songs.

When I was finished, I tried to figure out how I wanted to organize it. I started to feel a little worried that I might do a crappy job, so I went to find my dad and ask him for advice. He told me “put it into albums.” I put it into albums, and I was done. I realized there was something about putting albums that made me feel more complete. After that, I decided to stop worrying and get into making more of this music.

* The Gameplay Theme:

With Rakuen being a visual novel-esque RPG, I’ve been trying to match the tone with the game theme. So that means all the songs I wrote were made to fit with the game’s atmosphere. I tried to make the game more of an experience than just reading through pages of text, so I made sure to work on how I would approach each scene with music. For example, for the “jump” scene, I knew I wanted to create a song that would be almost like a concert where you see all the amazing visuals on stage.

Rakuen is a really romantic game, and I tried to tie in
