Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

History
AutoCAD is a successor to the first AutoCAD, AutoCAD R2. AutoCAD was first developed by the U.S. Computer Systems Group (CSG) in 1977, a group formed by the CAD divisions of Avery Data Systems, Autodesk, and Creo. In 1979, CSG partnered with Invectora Corporation to produce the first version of AutoCAD. Invectora offered its first desktop computer CAD system to CAD operators for $4,995. In April 1980, CSG, now Autodesk, and Invectora partnered to form a new company, Invectora Inc. The new company hired Dennis Smith as president in May 1980.
In 1981, CSG and Invectora were acquired by the MITS Corporation. Invectora continued to develop AutoCAD, and CSG sold it to MITS in March 1982. Invectora developed the first port of AutoCAD to a microcomputer using an internal graphics adapter. Invectora released the first port of AutoCAD to the CP/M operating system in 1982. The first port ran on the Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 100.
After the acquisition, Autodesk continued to develop AutoCAD, and in September 1983, Autodesk released AutoCAD LT, which was an initial attempt to make AutoCAD available on personal computers. In 1983, Autodesk released AutoCAD for the Apple II. In 1984, Autodesk began to merge some of the functions of AutoCAD LT with AutoCAD. In 1985, Autodesk released AutoCAD LT 2, the second version of AutoCAD.
By the early 1990s, AutoCAD had become the industry leader. In September 1990, Autodesk released AutoCAD 1990, which included integration with Microsoft Works. AutoCAD has been a primary user-developed product of Autodesk since 1990.
From the late 1980s to the mid 1990s, the industry shifted to creating industrial products rather than home products. Since then, CAD applications have been primarily for the use of companies that do large-scale manufacturing or engineering.
In 1997, Autodesk bought Digimaster, a company that made several CAD programs, including VectorWorks, 3D CAD, and Luminaires. The company, based in Madrid, was called General CADD, and had started in 1974. In July 1997, Autodes

File
The AutoCAD 2000 file format was initially based on the drawing format of AutoCAD LT. When AutoCAD 2000 was released the earlier software was incompatible with it. For backward compatibility AutoCAD LT 2000 can open AutoCAD 2000 drawings and vice versa. AutoCAD 2000 was originally shipped with a Microsoft DOS version of DXF, but this was removed from the newer AutoCAD versions.
AutoCAD can use a new file format based on the Linux Advanced Data Format, or LADF, a specification intended to unify CAD file formats. The LADF file format is similar to DXF, but supports many features that are currently lacking in DXF.
There is also an attempt to maintain backward compatibility with the older DGN format, which was discontinued by Autodesk in 2014. The AutoCAD plugin OpenDGN lets users load and export to DGN. Other CAD file format support comes from third-party plugins. For example, DXF is used by the plugin AD, ArchX’s Arch XML and the site CAD File Format Converter.
Another new file format is REVX, short for REsource versioned X, an AutoCAD file format that stores all information in a REsource. REVX allows for automatic and manual tracing of geometry from one Revit file to another. AutoCAD also supports importing and exporting Revit files. This file format is used by the plugin Revit LAS. AutoCAD has also announced an object-oriented file format called the AutoLISP object file format. This object file format is not supported by any AutoCAD applications other than AutoCAD LT 2010.
AutoCAD has an eCAD file format called AECAD (AutoCAD Advanced eCAD). AECAD provides the ability to import and export 3D model data in SDR, as well as import and export Rhino (.wrl) files.
Extending and customizing
AutoCAD allows users to customize its features by using modules and plugins. Users can develop plugins for AutoCAD by using C++, Visual Basic, C#, Java,.NET, LISP and Visual LISP. There are also.NET and Java APIs that can be used for automation. As a result, the Autodesk Exchange Apps are compatible with AutoCAD. AutoCAD has a plugin framework that allows developers to create and publish their own AutoCAD

Q:
Stabilizer of an abelian subgroup of $GL(n,\mathbb{C})$
Let $G$ be an abelian subgroup of $GL(n,\mathbb{C})$, that is $G$ is a complex vector space of dimension $n$. Let $A$ be an abelian subgroup of $G$. I would like to know if the stabilizer $H$ of $A$ in $G$ is also abelian.
Note that $G$ is generated by $H$ and $A$.
A:
You might as well assume $G$ is algebraic, and use general fact:
If $\mathfrak{g}$ is a Lie algebra over $\mathbb{C}$ and $H$ is an algebraic subgroup of $G$, then $H$ is algebraic.
This can be easily shown by considering $T_e(H)=\mathfrak{h}$.
Now, for $G=GL_n$, we use the following.
(D. Liu)
If $G$ is any algebraic group and $H$ is any closed subgroup, then $H$ is algebraic.
This is usually proved by proving a stronger theorem: $H$ is algebraic iff $G/H$ is a torus.
To prove this, we can use a standard trick.
Consider $G$ as an algebraic group over a finite field $\mathbb{F}_p$, and observe that $H$ is algebraic iff $H(\mathbb{F}_p)=H(G(\mathbb{F}_p))$.
Now, we have a map
$$H(\mathbb{F}_p)\to G(\mathbb{F}_p)/H(G(\mathbb{F}_p))$$
which is surjective.
But $H(\mathbb{F}_p)$ is finite, and $G(\mathbb{F}_p)/H(G(\mathbb{F}
What’s New In AutoCAD?
You can design and incorporate feedback from paper or PDFs by using the automatic import feature of the Markup Assist utility. This is a powerful feature that enables you to rapidly send designs to your colleague or your paper version of the design. The software does the rest. While importing paper, you can also change the design on the fly by adding or removing objects.
Improvements in the Live Envelope:
Enjoy greater interactivity with other applications on your computer. The easy-to-use Live Envelope lets you collaborate with others at the same time in a context-aware environment. Once you’ve created a drawing or annotation, share it with others and open up the drawing right on the page where it was created. You can edit or change your work at any time, all without leaving the drawing. You can also work with others remotely using the new web-based interface.
Support for non-automated drawings:
Create complex geometries, add curves to your lines, and apply styles to them. All of this can be done through a combination of commands. For instance, you can edit the coordinates of a set of points using the command LSE (line set end), or you can modify the lines by using commands such as Move To (M51), arc, and move (M21). And you can create complex geometries with the command Move (M0). (video: 2:06 min.)
AutoCAD 2023 has been optimized to work with non-automated drawings. You can now create complex drawings using annotative technology. You can also apply styles to your lines, add curves to your lines, or apply controls to your drawing, all by using a combination of commands. For instance, you can edit the coordinates of a set of points using the command LSE (line set end), or you can modify the lines by using commands such as Move To (M51), arc, and move (M21). And you can create complex geometries with the command Move (M0). (video: 2:06 min.)
Clipping to the World:
Manage multiple views in a drawing and keep track of changes. With the new Clipping tools, you can manage multiple views and keep track of changes to your drawings. Using the familiar command CLIP (right-click on any portion of a drawing and select CLIP), you can see every view in a drawing, and you can select
