File formats
Every release of AutoCAD has used a new file format, starting with AutoCAD Release 2, named Autodesk’s file format. When it was introduced it was called.DWG. It was later renamed to.DWF and is still supported to this day. The.DWF format was originally designed to replace the.DWG format, but the new format was released as a backward-compatible format to allow existing DWG drawings to be read and edited in AutoCAD. Autodesk has stated that the transition from.DWG to.DWF was a controversial issue and that AutoCAD has been accepted as an industry standard for representing 2D drafting and related file formats.

The current file format is the.DWG2. The.DWG2 format is a variant of the.DWG format that adds support for a number of modern features like tagged text, parametric and 3D editing, direct assignment to blocks and sections, rendering and text rendering, etc.

Why does the Windows command line not recognize the.ini file in my application folder?

I have a UWP application with the.ini file in the application folder in the same level as the app.exe. The application starts and closes, but the command line doesn’t know the file exists.
If I browse to the folder, I can open it from the command line just fine. I have confirmed the path I have used is correct by adding /r to the end of the path.
I have also tried adding the command line parameters using Windows defaults, so the command line now looks like this:
C:\PROGRAMS\MyApp\MyApp.exe /nologo /appdata/local/x86/

However this has the same effect.
Is there any way to get the command line to recognize the.ini file?

The CLI does not support copying the.ini file into the executable folder. You’ll need to use an external.ini file.
