How to use custom id in XML in Android

I’m using XML as well as setText to give custom id to TextView. But when I use
android:id=”@+id/txt_title”

the ID given is not custom. It gives id as usual textview. But when I use the below
android:id=”@+id/title”

then its gives me the following error.
Error:(18) No resource found that matches the given name (at ‘id’ with value ‘@+id/title’).

A:

Custom Ids work in sub-directories inside res folder.
