I need to have two functions which should check for array elements’ existence.
So in one function I assign array elements’ values, like:
function testArray() {
var myArr = [];
myArr[0] = 1;
myArr[1] = 2;
myArr[2] = 3;
return myArr;
}

Now, if I call this function later on, it will throw an error. So I added a try/catch block like:
function testArray() {
try {
var myArr = [];
myArr[0] = 1;
myArr[1] = 2;
myArr[2] = 3;
return myArr;
} catch (e) {
alert(e);
}
}

And when I call the function it works as I would expect.
But the catch block always throws an “IndexError”. I tested and myArr is not null, so it’s possible to set elements’ values, but for some reason it doesn’t work.
Why this can happen and how can I check for an array’s values existence without letting it throw the error?
