I upgraded from Lightroom 4 to Lightroom 5 today. I love it! I missed the easy way to view and manage my photos. For years I was using Lightroom>Library>Catalog. I was using the in-app options with the Library. The Library was simple and awesome but by the time I got to Catalog it was a mess.
The 5.0 version changes everything again. Simple and awesome. Take it.

Adobe Lightroom is an enormously popular photo management and editing application. It is the basic, but not the only, photo-management solution to share, organize, comment and display high-quality or specialized images. Lightroom is also used by designers for pre-visualization of web pages and other media. In short, there’s a lot of uses for such an application. Some of you might not have heard of it, but if you work in graphics and design in any capacity, you’re almost definitely using it, if not on a daily basis. It started development in 1987 and it was originally called Adobe ImageReady, then became ImageReady Pro and has progressed into Lightroom. The application first became available for computers under OS X in 1995. Under this
link , its first public release that Apple referred to as B4. Adobe added more features and changed the name to Lightroom. It launched on Windows OS in 2003. In April 2008, it was updated to Lightroom 3. After a lot of dissatisfaction from customers, Adobe finally announced the new Lightroom on April 15, 2009. Lightroom 4, as a new take on an old idea, was released on October 10, 2009.
For example, an insurance marketer used the platform to create an ad instrument that lets their customers optimize their home photos for insurance purposes.
In 2017, we worked on WebGL Panels, a canvas delivery platform that lets developers programmatically position their canvas in a panel. We deployed our first version of this technology onto the web and it received a lot of interest from developers.
The key benefit of WebGL Panels is that they can provide a thicker and more immersive canvas that can easily handle even large images. Most importantly, browsers have access to the GPU of the device, which can use the best processing power available and can do so in a very efficient way.
In addition, we kept augmenting the platform with features like hotspots and click areas for interacting in 3D.
We got a lot of interest in using SVG and Canvas Panels, said Olivier Polet, Adobe’s senior web architect.
Next, we explored the implementation of these technologies in a true web-browser. Last year, we worked on WebAssembly Panels, a canvas delivery platform that lets developers programmatically position their canvas in a panel.

Photoshop CC 2019 will support several new file types with unlimited resolution, including PSDSPD and PSDSPM. This will allow designers to create wide format documents using modern printers and production equipment, while retaining the familiar Photoshop workflow for editing such work. With the update to CS7 and now to CS6, Photoshop has included the part called “The Layers Panel.” The Layers Panel in Photoshop is the equivalent of separate windows that used to be part of older versions, or the “Layers Palettes” in Photoshop CS5. The Layers Panel used to be located on the left-hand side of the window and contained the Layers fles. If you want to continue to use your layered images in the same way as you did previously, you should be able to just skip the Layers Panel update. If the Layers Panel seems to interfere with your workflow, then there are a couple of options.
In those cases where the left panel of the Photoshop window needs to be updated (like the Layers Panel), the dialogues and options available will determine whether you are able to use your image in exactly the same way as you were before.
If the dialogues and options are something like “Create a new document,” “Convert file to Smart Object,” or “Apply a filter to the layer,” you can continue to use your image exactly in the way you had been. From here just drag & drop (or copy & paste) the layer you want into your new document.
If the dialogues and options are like “Add a filter,” “Flatten Transparency,” “Image Adjustments,” and “Quick Fix,” or “Optimize File,” then the order of these actions will have to change. In this case, the new workflow will be the opposite of the old workflow.
