The main part of the design is taken by the wonderfully colored slide panel. But you will find there more than only the light blue of the sky and the deep blue of the waters.
The curved part of the panel provides you with the feelings of space and light and that is accompanied by the file list and personal menus and the option to have automatic updates of your application.
The panel can be moved, become animated when you mouse over it and also it has a pressure sensitive zone that allows you to drop the panel down or up.
But there is more than the panel. On the left side of the desktop you have a slideout overview that will give you information about the Eart and Moon and that means more than the net and social network tab.
The planet is represented by 6 color choices and has both the planet as well as the moon in full color.
The theme comes with a very high quality light blue navigational line. The navigational line is separated in 2 parts and each is actually a tab that allows you to access to the Internet applications, the clipboard, the utility applications and help.
The navigational line has a nice full color but the letters in the tabs are different and can easily be changed.
The planet has a slightly curved but customizable outline and was made to offer you the most attractive Planet image ever.

@Alcohol Oxide- this theme IS indeed beautiful. So does your desktop look like a real theme or not? Or are you just making fun of me?

@Haneke1- I do use the Wacom Tablet to draw stuff, but the desktop itself does not look 3D. But the title-bar looks like 3D (as do the desktop icons, which are also recessed a little). But everything else is just flat/2D.

@Alcohol Oxide- sorry, but I didn’t say your theme looked like a Windows 7 theme. It looked like a Windows 98 theme. And I think that’s what you were referencing.

Also, I don’t believe I was being funny, or sarcastic at all. I like desktop themes. They’re neat. But they look rather generic. My main complaint is that I can never figure out how they work, or what settings to change to modify it to look the way I want.

@Haneke1- yes, you’re right. And I had the same difficulties until I discovered Alien Desktop Theme Manager. The program explains how to use the settings and stuff to give the desktop your own makeover. I’m definitely giving it a try.

I couldn’t figure out how to give my desktop theme a name, or upload it anywhere, so I put it in my post. You can see it here. I’ll try to do something different next time.

@Haneke1- I think I understand your reluctance to create your own desktop theme. However, the “meat and potatoes” of the theme, the color scheme, is already provided. You can simply modify the desktop icons and window color scheme to your liking.

The rest of the settings are minor. You can set the theme to change the placement of the taskbar on the secondary monitor. You can also set the “activation time” of the theme. I usually set it

Definitely, this is one of the best Windows themes I’ve seen so far, just that simple. I won’t talk about the slider effects of the theme. They’re quite simple and nice. Just a couple.
You can launch the Desktop in 3 ways:
– Double-Click the icon
– Right-Click it and select the menu item for Launcher (I don’t know why it’s called that…)
– Start -> Desktop
With this last option you can just pick the first option in the list and you are ready to go.

The Moon and Star map
This map is interactive. The larger you zoom out the more stars you can see. Click on the map icon to see a compass to locate the North Pole and the southern South Pole.
If you want a lot of stars, and I mean like a million, you can just right-click to Zoom. You can also look around for the Moon to see if it’s visible.
Just a few touches:
– It’s enabled by default, so no need to do anything.
– For some reason the strange window colors are not applied, I think it’s because the Windows theme is a real pale blue.
