If you need to adjust a large number of images at once, then use Lightroom. If you need to make similar adjustments that will be used in various productions, then use Photoshop. The key difference is that Lightroom is a raw processing tool. The “Layers” are order of operations, and it’s easier to photograph ideas on top of each other, pressing “Save” for every idea you have. Unfortunately every time you add elements through “save” only one version is kept. Photoshop has a layer system and every edit you do stays until you save your document as a whole. Therefore it is recommended for videos where you want to modify multiple elements at once and keep.
These are all the tools you need to help you on your chosen platform. If you want to work on videos, so you must learn the “Layers” system. Keyboard shortcuts are helpful for all tasks in general, but I’ve found that you’ll learn them the best if you have the basics down first to understand what they mean.
