If you have read my previous post (LinkLabel component), you may have noticed that this post talks about a little label Delphi component, that has a URL property. With filling this property you can link this label to a website. When a user click on the label the default browser will be opened with the page filled in the URL property.

In this post I will explain how to implement this kind of label in a TDBIndex component, that is used in the application.

TDBIndex is a component that allows you to create a sort of message board, where you can post messages, that will be saved in the database. It is possible to implement this component in more than one way. This is what I have done, as you will see.

Let’s see the components that are needed for this, and how they are used.

The first component is the TDBIndex, that is implemented in a class, and it has properties that allow you to set the database name, the table name and the column where the messages will be saved.
