People in the real world have seen the hype of Thor: Love and Thunder, and of course, it seems to be a deal breaker for some. I remember getting excited while reading the script of the film, and very soon the concept of the film was being inserted into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But then, the idea of the movie came out, and of course, I was disappointed. Why? The movie’s premise sucked.
Since Avengers: Endgame is out, it’s probably going to be a while before we see any Thor: Love and Thunder related news. The release date of the film is yet to be announced, and there are no reports of the film going into production. It might just be a case of time and comics, and once the news of the possible release date has reached its conclusion, Marvel Studios might just pick up the pace. We will see.
Thor is a mythical character from Norse mythology. His homeland is Asgard and his most well known attribute is his power as the God of Thunder. He is based upon a heroic being and is often depicted in modern fantasy literature and animated television series. He was the chief Asgardian deity, a major Germanic deity, associated with love and royalty, storms and thunder, and speaks for the gods. In real mythology, Thor is the archenemy of the goddess Loki. The mortal form of the god Thor is mentioned in the Poetic Edda, a collection of poetry of the legendary figure of the Norse Eddas. He is a primary member of the God Warriors.
The film features an appearance by Ralph Fiennes, who has been confirmed as the new Gandalf. A lot of speculation has been made by fans and the media that the character of Eitri may appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. We know he was played by Bradley Whitford in Ragnarok, and by Paul Bettany in the Thor prequel The Warriors Three. However, he is definitely not in this movie. He is portrayed by Necar Zadegan, who is known as a Turkish movie star. At a film festival in Turkey in the middle of November, Zadegan announced that he will be playing Eitri in the upcoming Thor movie.

There is no making the case that Thor: Love and Thunder would be the better standalone release than the highly popular Avengers: Endgame. That being said, the movie is still worth a watch. The film is able to make the most of its own premise and does make a decent effort, in comparison to other with similar stories from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most notably, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. If you can overlook the obvious differences in the source material, you will be able to enjoy the film, for what it is worth.
Even with all the challenges that they face, there are still times when the cast and crew of Thor: God of Thunder, really do make Thor: God of Thunder a surprisingly enjoyable film to go to. In the case of the film, the title of the film is itself the biggest problem. It’s that word “God”, that brings the movie down a bit. But for what it is worth, despite having to sacrifice to the Gods, Thor ultimately comes out successful and returns the honourable position of being the supreme god. Or so you assume anyway.
