Using SourceNote
It is important to know the differences between the following notepad programs, they are all free and should be usable.

Ive been using Notepad++ for a while now. This was a godsend when I started using the IDE and Ive found nothing as nice as this for other Notepad++ related issues. Its fast and easy to use, plus the Edit menu is perfect for a beginner. It doesnt come with default macros that youd expect with a more advanced editor, but you can make your own. There are a few keyboard shortcuts that can be confusing at first, but I found them with time and practice.

One big problem I do have with it is that it doesnt always save properly when closing files. Ive seen it close saved files before I save them.

I was prompted to purchase this as I love to use Notepad++ for source editing. Its easy to use, works for any language and saves a lot of time for coding and is very user-friendly. The problem is that it saves source file on the desktop by default. When you open a new file or want to open a file which is already open, you need to manually change the directory.

I installed notepad++ on several machines and was always bothered by the fact that it always saved files to the desktop when saving a file. I found the solution to this problem in a thread on the notepad++ forum. Just go to the directory and choose another location from the menu. This works
