The realism of the VC is lacking. Controls are very stiff, and at times it seems as if the pilot in the cockpit might be floating a bit. Most of this does not translate over to the FSX/P3D cockpit, so the feel of a flight is a lot more natural. At altitude, I often had to look at the trimmers to correct for erratic pitch of the aircraft, but it happened often. Not to the point that the feel of an aircraft is very unreal. The felt that it is a simulator, but not an authentic simulator.
With these numbers, Milviz should not be in VRS except under very extreme conditions. The highest rate of decent this aircraft has ever shown is 3-4 feet per second, under a pressurized helicopter. No VRS whatsoever. With the Milviz numbers, the Milviz T-38A Advanced is a VRS dog. You dont generally see helicopters that high off the deck, unless they are already in VRS. There have been a few helicopter accidents that are the result of VRS conditions. This is no accident.
The Milviz P3D T-38A Advanced engine will not scare you, but if youre a newbie, its not very good for you. Its noticeably louder than other rotorcraft engines in this price range. This volume of noise certainly does not promote the ability to fly helicopters in urban areas, nor does it allow you to hear other nearby engines. Its also noticeably louder than the Milviz T-38A. I had thought to myself that the Milviz engineers had managed to get a bit of an audio trade-off, by reducing the “chuffing” of the engines. Its not quite there. Milviz still has a somewhat honking engine, although its less of one than before. If your listening to it all the time, its okay, but if your flying in a city, its not to the benefit of your operator.
