I can understand why this might appeal to some people who like fantasy games with an emphasis on action, and don’t like fantasy games with an emphasis on RPG-ness. For me, however, its an interesting experiment in the right direction. ”

“The combat system is highly-customizable, and the process of upgrading the skills and weapons of your character is a simple, but very satisfying system where you upgrade by equipping new gear. The ring is a huge part of the combat, and is used to mark enemies that are immune to you, or that requires a special technique to deal with. In fact, the ring was the biggest part of my time, and I was surprised by how much of a weight it ended up having. Enemies not marked by the ring fall to the ground, and they can be grabbed and dragged away to be dealt with later.

Once again, it’s surprising how many different items you can equip in this game. And what’s more surprising is how well-made and practical most of the items are. The weapons are all well-balanced, and the armor and shields all have good utility for their specific purpose. Even the ring has its unique, useful purpose.
