The following techniques demonstrate how to use Photoshop’s various tools to manipulate images. See How To Use Photoshop’s Tools for further tips and techniques.
Step 1: Preparing a Clear Background
This basic feature enables you to manipulate the background of a photo or other image without affecting the original photo’s content.
With the photo in your image, choose the Photoshop Layers panel by clicking on the View icon on the top tool bar or by pressing Alt+Spacebar. Alternatively, you can right-click on an image and click on “Show Layers Panel.”
In the Layers panel, at the bottom of the panel, click on the Background layer (see image at right). The layer at the bottom will then be selected and all the other layers will be deselected.
In the Layers panel, press the Delete key to remove the background layer.
Step 2: Thicken Your Photo’s Background
By default, the background of any selected layer is 100% transparent. This means that the top layer of the image will only appear where the transparent background meets the object.
To make the background thicker, simply hold the Shift key and use the Transform palette’s Width or Height tools.
To add a thick background to more than one layer, click once on the topmost layer in the Layers panel. Then, use the Transform palette to adjust the width or height. All the layers beneath the top layer will be scaled proportionally.
Step 3: Remove the Background from a Layer
Remove the background from a layer by going to Layer | Background | Clear.
Select the layer in the Layers panel and press “Delete.”
If you don’t clear the background, the layer will still be considered to have a background. An image will still show at the bottom of the layer regardless of whether the background has been removed.
Step 4: Increase the Opacity of an Object
Opacity allows for a color to be partially visible. With opacity, it is possible to make an object partially transparent, but the underlying image is still visible.
Increase the opacity of an object by either:
Selecting the layer and choosing Layer | Layer Properties | Transparency. or by dragging the Opacity icon at the top toolbar (see image).
Change a photo’s opacity by selecting the layer in the Layers panel and pressing the eye icon on the tool bar.
Another method to increase opacity is to make a

Though Elements is an excellent basic video editing program, I cannot recommend it to anyone who is trying to edit videos professionally. A more powerful and feature-rich video editor program is Premiere Pro CC, which has tools and features similar to most professional video editing programs. But for beginners just starting to work in video, Elements is a good choice.
The rest of this tutorial will give you a quick overview of what to expect when editing a video with Elements. We’ll also cover how to crop and add a simple 3D effect to our image to give it a 3D look.
Not a lot of people use Photoshop Elements to edit videos, but when they do, they sometimes give us good feedback and leave comments.
If you work with Photoshop Elements and would like to see a tutorial on how to add a watermark to an image, check out this Photoshop post.
Do you already use Photoshop Elements to edit a photo or video? Leave a comment about what you use it for!
1. Open the Template Icons folder and create a new folder inside. Next, open the Video-Elements-2.png file. This file is the template for creating a video background. You can download the template for free by clicking the link at the bottom of the page.
Open the template using Photoshop Elements and click OK.
You can choose the color of the three lines or colors around the picture. Click the settings icon (the black diamond with a red circle) to enter the settings for the white lines and the gray lines in the upper left corner.
Step 2: Crop the Video and Add a Watermark
Since we are going to be creating a tutorial about editing a video, we’ll be working with a video file so we have to crop it a little bit first. Next, we’re going to add the background picture as a watermark to the video. Open the same folder you used when you saved the video file you want to work on. You should see a folder called unedited. If you don’t, you should’ve skipped step 2 when editing.
Double-click the video file and see the image file you’re looking for. If you can’t find it, it’s probably in the wrong folder. Next, you should see three options for video files when you click on it. The first one is the original video file you downloaded, the second one is the.avi file that’s ready to edit, and the third

From the faculty of the University of Georgia School of Law, the Georgia State University College of Law, and the University of Georgia School of Law’s practice management program, come two new books that are sure to put a smile on the faces of creators of legal papers and documents, a smile so big that it would light a space suit up for a year: 11 Steps to a Great Legal Paper and From the Dean’s Desk.
These two new works are, we confess, the same book with different covers. But the inside is exactly the same: A collection of 40 inspirational essays and how-to tips by talented attorneys, writers, and educators on topics ranging from the minutiae of legal writing to the art of analyzing and fixing a legal document.
Here are some favorites from the book.
1. “Get Specific About Your Goals and Objectives.” Stake out your position. State what you want.
4. “Do Your Research.” Know who your audience is and what they want.
5. “Show, Don’t Tell.” If you are to start a new document, be sure to show the changes you’ve made to the previous one.
7. “Organize.” Weave in all the information necessary to answer the question.
9. “Use Active Voice and Verbals of Action.” Avoid using the passive voice.
10. “Step Outside the Page—Transfer Information.” Every page should end with a blank line, and you should always write a note on the next line.
11. “Edit and Edit Again.” An editor is important. One editor helps.
13. “Be Specific.” Imagine that you are a client. What do they want to know?
14. “Focus on a Final Goal.” Don’t get lost in details. And be specific.
15. “Annotate and Affix.” An annotation is like a post-it note, but you can also be selective and use it to incorporate a quote or instruction.
16. “Don’t Forget to Read the Agreement.”
17. “Consider a Review Period.” If a contract or other document needs additional work after reading, don’t forget the review period, which the authors recommend

NSURL *URL = [NSURL URLWithString:@””];
NSData *urlData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:URL];
NSUIImage *image = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:urlData];
self.theData = [NSData dataWithImage:image];
self.userImage.image = image;
Now In a Nib File
UIImageView *img = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(55, 5, 60, 40)];
Then create a NSData object and pass it to the UIImageView.
Note The URL that I have used has been dummy.
Possible role of cyclic nucleotides in photoreceptor renewal.
Cyclic nucleotides were measured during the day in the chicken retina after exposure to continuous illumination and then incubation in the dark. Neither cyclic AMP nor cyclic GMP increased significantly when the retina was stimulated with light. There was a partial depletion of the cyclic nucleotides in the retina in the dark, however. Cyclic AMP was almost completely depleted in 6-day-old chicks and in adult birds. When the retina from adult birds was incubated in the dark, cyclic AMP content recovered to about half of the initial level in about 10 days. The cyclic GMP content was partially depleted in the dark and also recovered after 10 days. A continuous exposure of the retina to light for a period of 1 hr in the dark led to a
